Lee Dority

Lee Dority, Club President 1989-1990

Leland "Lee" Douglas Dority passed away in his home in Prather, CA, at the age of 72, on the evening of Saturday, May 16, 2015. As one news article once wrote, "Maybe it was written in the stars or perhaps it was a simple coincidence, but Lee Dority seemed destined to work in the car sales business". Lee Dority, who was the owner of Sequoia Chevrolet in Sanger, CA, spent his whole life in the automotive industry. He was in fact born in the back seat of a Cadillac. Upon graduation, he went to work for Frontier Chevrolet in Fresno, CA, and later with Hallowell Chevrolet in Clovis, CA. In 1982, after 21 years in the business, Lee purchased what is now known as Sequoia Chevrolet. Lee was loved and appreciated by so many for his great character, integrity, work ethic, generosity, and commitment to his family, business, and community. His family is proud of the person and great example he was to so many. Lee is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Dority; sons, Scott Dority and wife Kim, Marty Dority and wife Heather, and Chad Dority and wife Rachelle; 12 grandchildren, Paige, Tanner, Ryan, Brooklyn, Taylor, Tressa, Hannah, Eric, Carly, Wyatt, Laci, and Morgan; and one great-granddaughter Annabell. Please join our family and friends for a potluck luncheon at Clovis Rodeo grounds on Friday, May 22, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., as we remember and celebrate Lee's life and legacy. Wallin's Sanger Funeral Home, 1524 9th Street, Sanger, California (559)875-6555
